Online – Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420)
Build the leadership skills to succeed in high-performance environments with the Manly Sea Eagles, through the Virtual Diploma of Leadership and Management, delivered in partnership with TAFE Queensland.
This 6-month accelerated program is delivered fully online through interactive evening sessions, allowing participants to develop practical leadership, communication and management skills while balancing work, coaching or other commitments. The course is designed for individuals who already have industry or community experience and are looking to formalise their skills with a nationally recognised qualification.
Students will develop the capabilities required to lead teams, manage projects, build effective workplace relationships and contribute to organisational performance across a range of industries, including sport, business and community settings.
Participants will also gain access to the Manly Sea Eagles environment, with guest speakers from club staff and industry professionals sharing insights into leadership, operations and performance within a professional sporting organisation. In addition, students will be invited to attend a series of optional face-to-face workshop days at the Sea Eagles’ high-performance facilities, providing valuable opportunities to build networks and connect with peers and industry.
Delivery and Location
This program is delivered in partnership with TAFE Queensland and runs over 6 months, with:
- Course starts on Tuesday 18th August
- 2 x evening Zoom sessions per week (interactive, trainer-led delivery)
- Classes sessions will run on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
- Students will attend via Zoom, with links and onboarding information provided following enrolment
- Fully online learning supported by digital resources and assessments
Participants will also be invited to attend:
- Up to 3 Saturday face-to-face immersive workshop days at the Manly Sea Eagles’ training facilities on the Northern Beaches
What You Will Study
This qualification equips you with practical leadership and management skills that can be applied across a wide range of industries.
Across the program, students will complete 12 units of competency comprising approximately 19 assessment tasks. While many of the assessment activities are designed to be completed during the scheduled sessions themselves, some assessment work will need to be completed and uploaded in students’ own time.

Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) delivered by TAFE Queensland (RTO 0275)
12 core and elective units are delivered as part of this nationally recognised qualification.
Entry Requirements and Participant Expectations
This program is designed for individuals with existing professional, sporting or community experience who are looking to formalise and further develop their leadership capability.
While there are no formal ATAR requirements for entry, the program is best suited to applicants who have:
- Approximately 3 years’ experience professional working experience
- An interest in developing leadership and management capability
- A desire to apply these skills across sport, business or community settings
Applicants should have completed Australian Year 12 or equivalent.
Participants will also require:
- Access to a laptop and reliable internet connection
- Basic digital literacy skills, including the use of Microsoft Office and online learning platforms
- The ability to participate in live online sessions and complete presentation and video-based assessment activities

The full fee for the 6-month online Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420) is $9,900.
Flexible payment options may be available through TAFE Queensland, including access to VET Student Loans for eligible participants.
Eligible Queensland-based participants may also be able to access subsidised training opportunities, including Fee-Free TAFE places, subject to eligibility criteria and availability.
